Interpretations Flash Fiction Contest
This was just for fun. Writers and visual artists submit one piece of work. If accepted, an art swap happens; each writer receives a work from one of the artists, and vice versa. The task for each: create a second work which functions as an interpretation of the other artist’s work.

A flash fiction piece based on a true story my mother told me from her childhood, about a local woman who was poisoned by a nun. Jealousy was the suspected motivation.

...and I responded with this story.
I was attracted to the delicate but strong arms of this sculpture, and the way the paint both hides and reveals the body. I liked the dichotomy of the shy, silent warrior.
